Join our most popular class! Bread, pancakes, waffles, buns… there are so many delicious recipes you can make with your own healthy sourdough that is ready to go when you want. This workshop is a great source of knowledge for both new and experienced home bakers. Unlike virtual workshops, this class will be a very hands-on experience. We will teach you a process and calculations that you can apply to any recipe you have or find. You will create your own sourdough boule, and we will check each participant’s dough progress. This personal interaction is very helpful and essential.
What you will learn and do during the workshop:
– overview of flours and benefits
– how to create and your maintain your own wheat sourdough starter – troubleshooting
– baker’s math overview
– timing your bake (long fermentation)
– kneading, folding, forming, scoring and baking
What to bring:
– A notepad and a pen to make notes
– An apron
– A desire and motivation to learn new things
There is a participation fee of $135 that is paid when you register online at www.riseupbakeryvt.com (Please indicate the participant’s full name in the comments box.) Ingredients and all printed materials are provided by the bakery and each participant will leave with a sourdough loaf and sourdough starter.
Cancellation Policy: Should you decide to cancel your registration, you are entitled to a full refund upon a minimum 14-day notice (minus any applicable PayPal fees). If your cancellation is between 14 and 4 days, we can offer the full refund (minus PayPal fees) if we can fill your spot at the workshop. If less than 4 days we will unfortunately not be able to provide a refund.
Please wear clothes that will be comfortable for baking.
